René Bliekendaal (61) lives in Amersfoort, where he grew up after spending his early childhood in The Hague. He is a father and grandfather, and enjoys life to the fullest with his partner. For over seven years, he has been active at Beround in various roles across client relations, relationship management, test consultancy, and business development. “And I still enjoy it immensely,” he says with a smile.

What defines René is his boundless energy and love for life. Sports and sociability are the common threads. He mountain bikes, rides on the road, plays padel, does fitness, and is a fan of good food and a fine glass of wine. But always with others: “Whether it’s on the bike or at the table that connection is pure wealth to me.” His loyalty also stands out. “I’m always there for the people I care about. Good friends and family can call me even in the middle of the night I’ll be there.”

René experiences that same sense of connection in his work. One highlight he recalls is a team building weekend with a client in the south of France. “Sun, substance, and genuine connection those moments make the work extra special. They stick with you and strengthen collaboration.”

According to René, what makes Beround unique is its culture. “You’re allowed to be human here. Of course, there’s hard work, but there’s also space for fun, relaxation, and genuine attention. That makes all the difference.” The new office clearly contributes to that, he says: “A place where you enjoy being, laughing by the coffee machine or working together on the future.”
