Anyone who gets to know Niels Treffers quickly notices that sports and energy are a common thread running through his life. Running is his greatest passion, and it shows: earlier this year he ran the Utrecht Marathon and recently participated in the Trio Triathlon in Deil with Team Beround. 

Niels is 24 years old and lives with his girlfriend in Barneveld. Besides running, music plays an important role in his life. Festivals and concerts are often on the agenda, from heavy hardstyle and hardcore to a rock concert. Football also holds endless fascination for him. Ajax is his great love, although he also enjoys watching the occasional high-level match.

His energy and enthusiasm aren’t limited to his free time. At Beround, Niels also finds the perfect balance. “What I love is the combination of professionalism and a friendly atmosphere,” he says. “We work on challenging projects for inspiring clients, but there’s also room to relax. A game of table tennis, racing on the simulator, or just a chat at the coffee machine makes working here truly enjoyable.”

Sometimes a project sparks unexpected memories. For example, Niels vividly remembers a moment at a client’s house when the fire alarm suddenly went off. “Everyone had to go outside, but because of the check-in system, we couldn’t get back in. We ended up sitting in the sun for three hours. A special experience I won’t soon forget.”

Besides his work, Niels also enjoys contributing to the world outside of Beround. If he were to imagine himself as Prime Minister, he would immediately address the housing crisis. “First-time buyers should be able to find affordable housing more quickly and easily.

Professionally, Niels is looking forward to a special occasion: His 5-year-anniversary trip. “It will probably be Madeira or Southern Italy. I can’t wait to share that experience.”

Niels is a colleague who radiates energy, knows how to inspire others, and demonstrates that hard work and enjoyment can go hand in hand, both in the workplace and during sporting challenges.
