Saturday, August 23rd, Deil hosted the 36th quarter triathlon. It felt extra special for Team Beround: this was literally a home race. With the office just a stone’s throw from the start and finish, it was a special experience for us to be at the starting line here.

The atmosphere in the village was fantastic. Familiar faces along the way, volunteers who greet you by name, and the short trip from the office to the transition area. As you know, we like to do sports and make connections. 

Our trio consisted of Global AI Strategist Simone de Rie, Relationmanager Rene Bliekendaal, and Testconsultant Niels Treffers. Simone started with the swim and finished in 21 minutes. Then Rene hopped on his bike for 40 kilometers. His time: 1:29:13. Niels finished with a solid 10-kilometer run in 49 minutes. Together they crossed the finish line after 2 hours and 40 minutes. 

Home and Pride

At Beround, we look back on this day with pride. Surely because of the achievement, but especially because we were able to experience it together, in our own backyard. The Triathlon Deil fits exactly into our “Do nice things, with nice people” philosophy.
