AI for Everyone: Building an Inclusive Future
We’re standing at the crossroads of a technological revolution. Artificial Intelligence is shaping the way we live, work, and innovate. But there’s a problem: less than a third of AI professionals globally are women. In an industry that profoundly impacts every facet of society, this imbalance doesn’t just stifle creativity—it weakens the foundation of AI’s future.
Time Article: Why We Need More Women In The AI Revolution
Diverse teams are proven to outperform their homogenous counterparts, and AI development is no exception. When the people designing AI systems come from similar backgrounds and share similar worldviews, the resulting products reflect the same narrow perspective. This can lead to systems that unintentionally reinforce bias, perpetuate inequality, and overlook the needs of vast segments of society.
But the implications of uneven adoption go beyond technological design. AI is reshaping economies, creating new industries, and redefining traditional roles. If we fail to ensure equal participation, we risk deepening income gaps, creating technologies that benefit only a privileged few, and missing out on the rich diversity of thought that drives true innovation.
This movement will touch every life on this planet sooner than we realize. That’s why it’s crucial to consider how—not whether—there’s a place for you in this wave of digital transformation. I’ve seen firsthand how age, language, or background is no longer a barrier to participating. I practice with my 90-year-old mom and with a young woman who came to our country as a refugee. AI allows us to meet everyone exactly where they are today.
No excuses - Let's Lean in Together!
As we launch our next AI Foundations cohort on April 7, we’re not just offering a training program; we’re making a commitment to inclusion. We invite everyone—especially women and anyone underrepresented in AI—to join us. Together, we can ensure that no one is left behind and build a future where AI reflects the experiences of all people.
